How to place an order to Uppsala Genome Center
All orders are handled through the NGI Order portal. To place an order, you must have a user account for the portal which can be obatined at the NGI Order portal.
You make no commitment until your order is submitted and accepted at the NGI Sweden Order Portal and you have a signed agreement with Uppsala Genome Center.
How to place an order
- Start by choosing the appropriate form at the NGI Order portal.
- Provide a project title and fill out the form with contact and invoice details, and as much information about your project as possible. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. It is possible to save incomplete orders but the order cannot be submitted until all mandatory fields are completed.
- After clicking “save and view” you will be able to read through your project application and attach files. You may then edit, delete or submit your project order.
You can see and access your orders through “My orders” page. Note that once submitted, the order can no longer be edited.
If you are uncertain of which method to choose you can contact us directly or use the form "Request a meeting" at the NGI Order portal. For more complex projects and research questions we always recommend a planning meeting, either in person or via Skype/videoconferences. The planning meeting is free of charge and is not binding. You can read more about the different services at Uppsala Genome Center under Our services.
Important note for EU/FP7-funded projects
Due to the audit rules for subcontracting, please indicate if your project is funded by EU/FP7 in the field named "Source of funding for the project". This allows us to collect necessary information pro-actively.
What happens after I place my order?
After an order is placed, the facilities within NGI will together assess it and perform an internal review of the technical feasibility. For projects that require more than 5% of the total sequencing capacity of a facility, an external review will be performed prior to project acceptance. This only applies to very large projects and you will be notified if your order is affected.
Once an order has been accepted the project coordinator from the NGI facility assigned to your project will notify you, in our case Uppsala Genome Center. You will be given a project code and an agreement with a quotation will be prepared based on your order information and if needed, a project meeting will be scheduled. You make no commitment until you have signed the agreement.
You will not be able to hand in samples until your project is accepted and an agreement is signed.
Once all is in place, you are welcome to deliver your samples to us. Please take a moment to read through the delivery instructions.
